The Great Gift of Light

At a tavern in town the group notices a halfling following them and follows him, after catching him he tells them that he was hired by the mayor to follow them and not letting them out of town. after testing this for themselves (the guard wouldn’t let them out of town), the went stealth and snuck back to the castle and “stole” some horses to escape out of the back mountain pass of the city. The guards soon release they have left and pursue them into the old Morse Mountains. After a few days the group gains ground on the guards and settle down to camp for a night.

During the night they were attacked by a group of monks who wanted to know about “the girl” they’ve been traveling with. When the party thought they were defeated the monks were suddenly trapped in the rock. The party ran to a rock druid who had saved them. The druid took them back to his cave and explained his distaste for the monks careless use of the mountains. Uthar found a common interest with the druid (as a rock lovin dwarf) and the druid offered them safe passage to the town they were heading to (the town Malovich went to). Little did they know he meant he’d turn them into eagles.

after adjusting to there new avian bodies, the eagles took off toward the town. After three days flight and an escape from being the pets of a colony of Raptorians, the group found their way to the town. When turned back into their original self’s they searched the town for Malovich. They found Malovich’s home ransacked and found out through neighboring tavern that she had been taken by the guards. The party went to the prison and tried to convince the guards to release her to them (posing as ambassadors of the king who was coming to get her). The failed miserably and locked themselves in the back of the station after killing several guards.

They released Malovich from her celled but were stopped by a legion of guards at the back door. They barracked themselves in the prison as they tried to find a means of escape. Uthar and Centine took several boxes from the confiscated room before Case found a sewer drain in the interrogation room. The four jump into the sewer but Uthar and Centine hurt their ankles. Fleeing down the sewers, Uthar started to pick the lock on his box and failed to see the Carrion Crawler lunge at him. soon both Uthar and Case were paralyzed and Centine defeated the Crawler by throwing a fireball at the monster and piercing it’s skull with a sword blow.

The party escaped from the sewers through a ocean cliff entrance, as Case swam to shore and lowered a rope to the rest of the party. The group escaped from search parties through the woods.

They fled for a few days until came into a small town for food and horses. In the tavern the party intercepted a pickpocket and asked him about a man who had been eying them from the corner of the bound and found out they were now being hunted for 25,000gp by bounty hunters. They made the rogue buy them horse and meet them at the edge of town as they bought a fake room to fool the bounty hunter. Impossibly, After a day of traveling they found out they bounty hunter was right behind them.

The Girl in the Red Dress

The party went to the tavern to watch Malovich dance. The party (after bad will saves) was fascinated by the girl. After the show the group noticed trouble outside. The group made their way to the docks just in time to see a large ship crash into the docks. They climbed aboard the ship and rescued the survivors. As they clum off the ship they saw a wall of water being sucked into the sky. The party helped the town rush to an old, unused underground shelter. As they closed the door of the shelter with the last of the villagers they saw the “storm” move onto land and tear apart the village as it ws sucked into the sky.

Once the town had settled into the shelter to weather the storm, Ben and the boys went into the back cavern tunnels to play. A scream echoed through the cavern and the party found one of the boys paralyzed with fear. Malovich attended to the boy but he would not wake from his fear and after several odd occurrences from the caverns the party decided it was time to venture in and find out what was goin on. With Malovich and several town guards the party went into the taverns and defeated a small winged creature. Eventually they made it to the back of the caverns and saw a demon like creature on a throne in a large room with a glowing pit in the middle. The demon closed the doors and separated the party and malovich from the rest of the guards. They defeated the demon and took the key that was hanging around his neck. when they did the pit began to rumble and a huge fiery demon emerged. They fled down the hall with the demon close behind them. Soon the demon caught them and grab malovich. As he lifted he from the ground she screamed and passed out. As the party turned to battle the demon, malovich suddenly awoke and let out a massive scream. A powerful blue light burst from her body and as the party recoiled from the shock wave they saw the demon disintegrated into nothing.

They picked up malovich’s limp body and went back to the cave entrance. Soon malovich awoke but remember nothing that had happened.

After a few days and no more disturbances the storm passed…but the town had been destroyed. The townspeople gathered what was left and the party lead a caravan to the next large city.

On the way, the group explores a threat from a goblin and falls into a pit where they encounter a underground goblin encampment which housed a hydra. they defeated the hydra and made it back to the party safely.

While passing through the plains the group encounters a group of mercenaries lead by Silas, the human ranger. The mercenary stayed with the caravan and in return guards the townspeople. During the night Uthar was kidnapped by the shadowdancer and in the morning the party and the mercenaries set out to find him. meanwhile the shadowdancer injected truth serum into Uthar and start questioning him about “the girl”. The party found the cave and was attacked by Worgs. The party defeated the worgs and eventually scared away the shadowdancer with a burst of intense light, but in the battle Dallic the Hafling (a mercenary) was killed. Back at camp Silas was furious at the death in his party but Balen the elven monk told them it was not their fault, death is a part of being a mercenary.

During their search the caravan had continued on and the party hurried to catch up. The soon saw a group of the king’s soldiers coming toward them and were alarmed until they saw Malovich was leading the party, she had come back to find them with reinforcements from the town they had reached.

I the town the mayor threw the party a huge party for safely bringing a thousand new people (taxpayers) to his town, and gave them lavish rooms and a servant in the castle. At the party Case talk with some shadowy figures who had been watching him. The next day Uthar found a gnome scholar in the kings castle and asked him (confidentially, he wasn’t suppose to study celestial) what his tattoo said. The gnome told him that it was written in celestial words but in an ancient giant alphabet “the great gift of light” He told Uthar of a old fairy tale that mentioned the “Great gift of light”, or in the original Giant, MALO-VICH.

Beginnings
All the Kings Men

In a small military base at the edge of the kingdom of elrich three men had been stationed; The Elves Case and Centine and the Dwarf Uthar. The low-level soldiers spent the days carrying out the routine tasks of this small, unimportant base.

One day Centine spotted a large whale in the waters outside the base and soon after an earthquake rocked the base, animals came from the woods and attacked. It was the druids, the war had found it’s way to this part of the world. Uthar was inside the command tent when a rogue getting a tattoo was downed. The commander grabbed Uthar (the only rogue around), gave him the tattoo and told him to get away from the base. Uthar ran into Case and Centine and the three fought there way to the lighthouse where they where knocked unconscious.

They woke in a jail cell and soon found that a fellow soldier was being kept in the cell next to them. The druid captain Salem summoned the three and told them they had been taken abort the whale submarine. He asked much about the tattoo and when convinced that they really knew nothing about it he offered them release. Salem gave them a room to stay in on the way to the town to be released in. one light a shadowy women attacked, she poisoned Uthar and tried to cut the tattoo from his arm but was blinded by Cases light spell. She then ran away when Salem and his men came to help. Salem told the party that it was a black operative of the King that had came to kill them before the tattoo was found.

Salem dropped the party in the town of Abathen, far from the kings war. In a tavern they found that the town was overrun with street gangs filled with teens trying to avoid the draft. leaving the tavern they stumbled open a gang chasing a young boy. They defeated the gang and rescued the boy. He introduced himself as benjemin and took them back to his house. They meet Sam (his mother), Angelia (sister) and sadie (little sister). Sadie introduced herself as princess sadie and gave centine a necklace she had made for him, and sam offered her house to the party. The next day Uthar passed a girl in a red dress on the street who he thought he had seen before. When he asked her she said she did not know him but that he should come see her dance in the pub tonight. Her name was Malovich.

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
